We asked the main wedding suppliers Harriet and Will chose for their timelessly elegant summer wedding at Boconnoc to share their process for ensuring that the couple’s vision was delivered.

THE PHOTOGRAPHER – SOPHIA VERES

“Harriet and Will’s wedding at the incredible Boconnoc Estate in Cornwall was one of the most beautiful events of the season. I was very excited to work with them as we seemed to be on the same page right from the beginning when it came to photography. They shared their vision for a warm, fun, and elegant day, precisely what they achieved. My photography brief was similar – aiming for both traditional and modern images, much like the essence of Boconnoc itself. As it was my first time working at this venue, I did a recce the day before the wedding. The timing was perfect as the couple and guests were having their rehearsal at the church, and I was fortunate to join them. It made the morning of the wedding day very relaxed as, by then, I knew most of the guests and the choreography of the ceremony.

The day went effortlessly, thanks to the on-day coordinator, Sophie May, and the event team at Boconnoc. The weather was fantastic – not too warm, not too cold, but consistently sunny. During the drinks reception, the house provided shade for the guests, which, combined with the light bouncing back from the light-coloured gravel, created the most flattering light for portraits! I was also eager to incorporate some of the art pieces around the house into their wedding gallery. For instance, I used a beautifully painted side table as a backdrop for Harriet’s jewellery shot. During the portrait session, I took them away from their guests for a short walk, making the most of the soft summer light and the lush grounds surrounding the house.”

THE CAKE – THE IMAGINARY BAKERY

‘’Harriet and Will contacted me a few months before their wedding day as they were specifically looking for a vintage wedding cake designer, which is my speciality. As the couple were based out of Cornwall, we arranged a video call to make introductions and discuss their vision for the wedding cake, which worked really well. I then designed the cake, which I worked closely with Harriet to adjust and perfect, and I was delighted when I heard the news that Harriet and Will had chosen me as their supplier and honoured that they trusted me to create their dream wedding cake. We landed on a two-tier, zesty lemon heart-shaped vintage cake in white with intricate piping in pretty pink and white. The addition of maraschino cherries gave the cake that final touch of vintage elegance. It was such a pleasure working with Harriet and Will to create their bespoke wedding cake for their beautiful day at Boconnoc.’’

THE CATERERS – FEGO FOOD COMPANY

“The wedding menu always starts with a brainstorming session between the couple and us. We sent them some of the menu examples we’d done before to get the ball rolling, and Harriet & Will told us they loved the flavours of Italy and the Mediterranean and generally fresh summer seasonal food. They wanted to feature certain combinations & elements- tomato & burrata, melon & parma ham, and pasta, for example. We created a menu draft featuring these, adding a few extra suggestions to elevate and add interest; a starter of tomato & burrata included a preserved lemon, caper & tarragon dressing, some smoked almonds & ginger slow-roasted cherry tomatoes, and tomato flakes. Harriet & Will wanted chicken as their main but wanted to keep things interesting. To keep it light & summery and in keeping with the Mediterranean theme, we suggested a ballotine of chicken stuffed with orange, apricot and herb stuffing, burnt aubergine, pomegranate roasted fig, radicchio, walnut & feta salad. This was polished off with pistachio semi-freddo, meringue, and rhubarb marshmallow. Pasties & scones were a crowd-pleasing way of fuelling the late-night dance floor.”

THE FILMAKER – NOAH WORTH FILM AND PHOTOGRAPHY

“It was an absolute pleasure capturing Harriet and Will’s wedding video at the stunning Boconnoc last year. Harriet & Will were a great couple to work with. Working at Boconnoc has always been a dream as it has such beautiful surroundings. Pairing that with a beautiful couple is a recipe for something very special. We want to capture the love and beauty of each wedding as authentically as possible, ensuring that all of our brides and grooms feel comfortable in front of the camera. We film unobtrusively to ensure we capture all of the natural moments of joy that happen during a wedding. One of my favourite moments in their wedding film is when all of Harriet’s bridesmaids see Harriet in her dress for the first time; the reactions, smiles and emotions are all so wonderful. For Harriet and Will, there was so much love surrounding them on their wedding day from all their family and friends, which was an absolute pleasure to capture.” View Harriet and Will’s wedding film here.
