Three prime ministers\, a history of duels and the architect Sir John Soane play a part in the story of this unique estate. \n  \nBOOK TICKETS \n  \nMeet your guide… \nCatherine Lorigan was born in London. During many visits to Cornwall to visit relatives\, her interest in the history of the county was awakened and her research now concentrates on many things Cornish. She has degrees from the universities of Birmingham\, Oxford and Exeter. \nCatherine is the author of the book Boconnoc- The History of a Cornish Estate \n

DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening of live music\, fun and frivolity with Andy Williamson and the Neil Burns Organ Trio on Saturday 25 March. \nThis performance will be the first of our Stable Yard Sessions. \nOverlooking the stunning Boconnoc House the historic Stable Yard makes for the perfect atmospheric location\, illuminated by our beautiful festoon lighting. \nDance around the fire pits or simply soak up the atmosphere as our talented musicians provide the entertainment for a magical evening of music. \nWith catering supplied by local companies and own bar serving beverages from local suppliers such as Wild Foraged Lantic Gin\, which is distilled the Skylark Distillery here on the Boconnoc Estate\, these events will support both local talent and small businesses with minimum impact on the planet. \nAll Stable Yard Session performances will be plastic free\, using compostable cups\, wooden cutlery\, and dinnerware. Guests will be encouraged to carshare where possible and for every performance a tree will be planted on the estate. \nAndy\, who runs the Ashburton Arts Centre and his group will bring their infectiously funky grooves and that sixties boogaloo feel plus some smooth jazz and soul from these four great musicians who love what they do. DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nBloomtown co-founder Preya Culmer shares the passion and skill behind her multi-award-winning soaps\, hand-crafted in Cornwall and stocked by the likes of the Eden Project\, RHS & National Trust. \n  \nThis 2-hour beginners’ workshop will teach you all you need to know to craft your own natural soap\, and you’ll leave with a loaf (5-6 bars) of your own custom creation to use yourself or give as gifts! Have fun playing around with different natural clay colourants\, essential oils\, and botanical exfoliants. \n  \n*Just a note: in this beginner’s workshop\, your first bars will be somewhat rustic\, but once you get the hang of the basics\, you’ll able to apply your newly learned skills to create your own recipes and designs 🙂 \nRefreshments will be provided\, please let us know about any allergies or dietary requirements upon arrival. \n  \nBloomtown is the UK’s first certified palm oil-free company and was founded in 2016 by Preya and Medwin Culmer after they spent 2 years in Indonesia and witnessed first-hand the devastation caused by palm oil cultivation.
