SUMMARY:Wild Arts Presents An Evening of Opera at Boconnoc
DESCRIPTION:  \nJoin us for an enchanting summer evening of outdoor opera at Boconnoc House when Wild Arts (★★★★★ Opera Now\, ★★★★ The Guardian) presents an evening of operatic and musical hits\, semi-staged by director James Hurley\, and woven into a sparkling new narrative. \n\n\n\nPerformed by four fabulous singers and a world-class string quintet\, follow our characters as they travel through 75 minutes of music – from arias and scenes by Handel\, Mozart\, Rossini\, and Britten\, to the songs of Richard Rodgers and Stephen Sondheim. \n\n\n\nWild Arts is more than just an Opera Company. It’s a charitable organisation that brings world-class opera to beautiful places around the UK. It nurtures young talent and runs music and singing projects in primary schools. By attending our event\, you’re not just enjoying a night of opera\, you’re supporting a worthy cause. To learn more\, visit wildarts.org.uk. \nAn utter delight. Opera Now ***** \nBring your friends\, a picnic\, refreshments\, and enjoy the beautiful grounds before the performance. Please remember to bring seating and dress appropriately for the weather. \nDATE: Thursday 17th July 2025 \nTIME: Entry from 6.30 pm; performance starts at 7.30 pm \nPerformance running time: 1 hour 40 mins with interval \nTicket: Adults £45\, Under 18’s £15\, Under 5’s free\, \nSix-person group ticket: £225 (sixth ticket is complimentary) \nBook Tickets \n \nThe Singers \nWhat happens if it rains? \nIn the event of bad weather\, we will not cancel a performance before the advertised start time. It’s surprising how often it can rain all day and then clear up just in time for performances to start. We can say this with confidence based on ten years of experience hosting outdoor events and weddings throughout the Cornish summertime. Some have said that Boconnoc benefits from its own micro-climate\, so while it may be raining when you start your journey the weather often can be much better when you arrive. \nIf\, on an infrequent occasion\, a performance cannot proceed due to extreme weather conditions or is cancelled partway through\, as a ticket holder for that performance\, you will have the option to exchange your tickets for another Boconnoc event or receive a voucher up to the value of your tickets to be used for future Boconnoc events. \nWe organise events throughout the year\, focusing on music\, history\, and nature.

SUMMARY:Autumn Walks at Boconnoc
DESCRIPTION:  \nTake an autumn walk and explore Boconnoc’s grounds and ancient woodlands. \nWelcome the change of season this autumn with a day discovering the beauty of Boconnoc. Our Autumn Walks Open Day is a rare opportunity to explore the estate’s sweeping parkland\, ancient woodland\, gardens and hidden corners as the leaves turn to vibrant shades of gold\, russet\, and amber.    \nWander at your own pace along marked paths and woodland trails\, whether you’re a seasoned walker or simply looking for a peaceful escape\, the estate offers a beautiful backdrop for a day of exploration – you might walk to the lake\, search for ancient monuments\, marvel over the ancient oaks on the woodland trails\, or observe the gardens as the plants begin to retreat for winter.   \nThe autumn walks will be marked\, and maps will be available; routes will range from gentle strolls around the gardens to longer walks through the parkland to our longest route of 3.8 miles. Please note that this has been reduced from the planned 5-mile loop due to damage from Storm Amy. \nFor those who prefer to take a ride through the grounds in ‘style’\, our tractor-trailer will be running tours starting from the front of Boconnoc House.   \nBoconnoc House will be open and serving light refreshments\, including home-baked cakes\, sausage rolls\, soups and cream teas. Choose a table in the beautiful garden room or on the terrace.   \n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n	\n\n	\n \n \nHighlights of the Day   \nThe Deer Park   \nTake a tractor-trailer ride through Boconnoc’s Deer Park\, where herds have roamed since 1540\, and see if you can spot the deer hidden in the russet-toned ferns. Boconnoc’s woodland is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).  \nAncient Monuments & Hidden History   \nThe estate’s monuments and historic features add layers of discovery as you walk through trails and paths\, look for the Georgian Bath House\, or ancient Cornish Crosses and Boconnoc’s Obelisk.   \nGardens\, Lakes & Parkland Trails   \nLose yourself in sweeping views\, explore Boconnoc Lake\, Pinetum and Shrubbery\, or wander winding paths through gardens planted in the picturesque style. The estate’s landscape is renowned for its vibrant rhododendrons\, camellias\, and magnolias in the milder months\, but comes alive with Autumn colours with the change of season.   \nFamily-Friendly and Accessible Walks   \nWe have wide open spaces for children to run in\, secret corners for hide and seek and shorter\, easy routes for little legs\, or buggies. SUMMARY:A Christmas Carol presented by Kernow Chamber Players
DESCRIPTION:Join us in Boconnoc House for a festive evening when Kernow Chamber Players will present a musical production of Charles Dickens’ timeless classic “A Christmas Carol”. \nThis much-loved classic Christmas tale tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge\, a miserly man visited by three ghosts on Christmas Eve: the Ghosts of Christmas Past\, Present\, and Yet to Come. They show him the error of his ways\, transforming him into a generous and kind person by Christmas morning.   \nThe performance will be a one-person dramatisation\, written and performed by Tama Matheson\, an award-winning writer\, actor\, director\, and founder of the Brisbane Shakespeare Festival. Matheson plays all  25 characters in the story\,  supported by music from Kernow Chamber Players to enhance and illustrate the story. \nBar open from 6.30pm. Approx running time is 90 minutes\, including the interval. \nDate: 16th December 2025\nTime: 7pm\nTickets: Adults £22.50\, Under 16’s £10.00 \nBook Tickets
