SUMMARY:Regenerative Agriculture Gathering
DESCRIPTION:What if the food we eat could help reverse the climate crisis? \n \nOn November 2nd there will be a gathering of pioneers\, made up of farmers\, growers\, foresters\, chefs\, scientists\, journalists\, policy makers\, organisers and academics. Individuals who together present a landscape of what a regenerative agriculture eco system could look like. People who are turning away from conventional farming and growing\, and believe that through the practice of farming regeneratively they can help remove greenhouse gas emissions from the air and create richer and more productive soils. The aim of the gathering is to explore all aspects of Regenerative Agriculture\, the circular economy and healthy\, thriving\, supply chains for our food. \nIf you want to reconnect with land\, food and learn about progressive farming\, join us for a weekend of talks\, discussions\, debates\, workshops and food on the Boconnoc Estate in Cornwall with the brave pioneers at the forefront of agroecology. Sit down to a long table dinner in the evening cooked over fire by Gioconda Scott using produce grown by the very best in organic\, biodynamic and regenerative farming and continue the conversation. On Sunday there will be a full programme of workshops plus a hearty lunch around the outside fire. \nThe gathering is being put together by Cathy St Germans organiser and writer\, who co-founded and directed the Port Eliot Festival and is part of the regen ag movement\, Abby Rose\, physicist\, farmer and maker of podcast\, Farmerama Radio and Matt Chatfield\, farmer and founder of The Cornwall Project\, a hub for progressive Cornish farmers and brilliant growers and London chefs who care about where their ingredients have come from. Three years ago Matt watched the Allan Savoury Ted Talk where Savoury suggested livestock farmers may hold the key to reversing climate change. This sounded too good to be true\, says Chatfield\, so he decided to find out for himself. \n“I’ve spent the last three years meeting the most progressive farmers and people involved in food production in the UK to find out for myself. In November all those people will be in a room to give their story. We need believable data from believable people. The conference is the beginning of the next chapter.” Matt Chatfield. \nThe event is now sold out\, but do follow along with the event on instagram @boconnocestate @cathystgermans.  \nFor the full details and line up please visit the Cathy St Germans Events website.

SUMMARY:Weekly Yoga with Annie Kelly
DESCRIPTION:Join us for weekly yoga in the Stable Yard with local yoga instructor Annie Kelly. \nDates for February: \n6th February\n13th February\n20th February\n27th February \n“I absolutely love teaching and I endeavour to make my classes accessible to everyone regardless of their flexibility (contrary to popular belief\, you really don’t need to be flexible to do yoga)\, age (my youngest student is 13 and my oldest is 94!) or body size/shape. Yoga isn’t interested in such things. Yoga is about bringing the mind to a peaceful state and accepting ourselves as we are. I am passionate that anyone who walks into my classes will leave feeling good about themselves and NOT that they are ‘no good at yoga’ (this was my own experience of my first class many years ago\, and it took me a long time to ever go to a group class again). \nClasses are fun and there is no need to be flexible to join in. I teach alignment focused vinyasa flow sequences\, connecting to the breath as we move to unite body\, breath and mind. Everyone is different so modifications are always offered and I love to use props in my classes to help students find more comfort in the body. Classes always end with either meditation or a guided relaxation to leave you feeling blissed out!” \n-Annie Kelly \nTo book please contact the Estate Office on 01208 872507.

SUMMARY:Transformative workshop weekend with Jamie Catto
DESCRIPTION:*POSTPONED* Explore your untapped potential with Jamie Catto. Attend workshops with the mischief-making creative coach\, designed to shake up your life and challenge your perceptions of who you think you are. \nTransforming Shadows \n10th – 12th July\nWeekend Workshop \n“You will learn how to dissolve and heal blocked emotions and the pain of old habits which weigh you down and reframe negative beliefs which hold pain-loops in place. You will play games and processes which lighten up rigid notions of appropriateness and uptight limitations of unconscious shame and negativity. You will laugh your head off and realise how much energy you’ve been wasting wearing masks to satisfy other people who’s values you don’t necessarily share. You will realise how precious each day is and how much more space there is for mischief and playfulness in the world\, especially yours. You will forgive yourself for all the shame and negativity you’ve allowed yourself to carry due to old beliefs from uptight parents\, carers and teachers of old. You will reclaim vast amounts of energy and joy and channel it into your creativity and passions. \nWonderful treasure we reclaim from ‘the shadow’ includes feeling comfortable to take centre stage\, enjoying dancing\, allowing the discovery of failure\, allowing oneself (and others) to be messy sometimes\, singing\, arting\, wearing colours\, being fully honest with family and friends\, self-care\, cracking yourself up\, being able to release emotion with crying\, experiencing the passion of your anger\, standing up for yourself\, engaging with causes and healing\, laughing at ourselves\, being generous\, allowing others to support us in our vulnerability\, being sexy\, enjoying all kinds of pleasure… \n….the shadow is not just the dark and yucky bits\, it’s all the parts of ourselves we learnt at young ages were ‘unwelcome’ or got us rejected or told off. It take SO little effort and drama to gently turn towards these places and reclaim their treasure….and there’s a lot of sheepish laughter and friendship in it…. \nWhat natural parts of yourself did you shut down as a kid? Let’s welcome them home together….” \nFULL WEEKEND TICKETS\nPrice includes all food and accommodation for the weekend. Tea\, coffee and water included\, all other drinks are extra.  \nBoconnoc House \nOne bed in a shared twin room \n£504 (One person) \nPrivate double room for two people \n£960 (Two people) \nCottages \nPrivate double single occupancy\n£504 (One person) \nOne bed in a shared twin room\n£380 (One Person) \nPrivate double room for two people\n£690 (Two People) \nDAY ONLY TICKETS\nPrice includes all daily workshops and lunch. Tea\, coffee and water included\, all other drinks are extra.  \nTwo full day tickets incl lunch both days (no accommodation)\n£270 (One person) \nBOOK TICKETS \n \nJamie Catto and Boconnoc would like this event to be 100% inclusive. For anyone who feels the weekend workshop is out of their price range please do get in touch and let us know the price you are able to pay\, and we will try our best to make it work for everyone.  \nTicket Information \nWe have various ticket options avaliable. You can either join us for the whole weekend and stay in one of the beautiful properties at Boconnoc; in the main house or the cottages with all meals included. Or there is the option to purchase a day only ticket which includes both days of workshops and lunch each day. Please do get in touch if you have any questions\, or would specifically like to share a room with someone else when booking one bed in a shared room. \n \nAbout Jamie Catto \nWhen we dare to reveal the truth\, we unwittingly give everyone else permission to do the same. Jamie Catto is here to help you show up in a world that needs you\, sifting through all the sticky difficult stuff to get to the blazing centre of your creative fire. We’re all navigating our way through the rocky terrain of being human and we don’t have to do it alone. Jamie’s workshops and 1-1s provide a refreshing approach to inner work with the right dose of playfulness and serious stuff. He facilitates these professional\, personal and creative breakthroughs by drawing from his own processes in ground-breaking film production\, philosophy voyages and music career. \nTestimonials: \n“…a polite warning; prolonged exposure to Jamie Catto could blow your mind…” – The Daily Telegraph \n“Jamie Catto is kind\, wise\, open\, boundlessly energetic\, optimistic and passionate. I adore him.” – Stephen Fry \n“Jamie Catto is a human icebreaker with a prow of determination and a motor of love\, slicing through the frozen seas around us.” – Tom Robbins

SUMMARY:Saw Mill Tours
DESCRIPTION:Boconnoc is lucky enough to have one of the few remaining water-powered sawmills still in operation. Many know Boconnoc for its beautiful landscapes\, weddings\, events and as a film and photography location\, but not for this fascinating feature. \n \nThe Boconnoc Sawmill is run by a water-powered turbine which was originally installed  in 1909\, prior to this it was powered by a water wheel.  The turbine produces 38hp and has a Stenner Rack Bench with an inserted tooth blade. The turbine was completely renovated in 2010.  \nMena Woodwork – a small focused workshop run by Olly\, based on the Boconnoc Estate\, specialising in functional understated and sustainable furniture. Where possible they use oak from the estate so the partnership between Boconnoc and Mena creates a sustainable and quality product with a beautiful story to tell.  \nThere are two ponds which are controlled by a sluice and feed a leat which runs the turbine. Boconnoc uses the sawmill to mill their own timber\, mainly oak\, which is turned into beams\, lintels and other products.  Some soft woods are cut to provide materials for use on the estate as well as cutting wood for businesses like Olly’s who have a sustainable ethos.  \nDates available: \nTo book your tour of our Saw Mill\, please email office@boconnoc.com to enquire about availability.  \nAdult £20\, Child (age 2 and over) £5. Children under 2 are free. \nLimited spaces available\, subject to availability and government guidelines.  \nImages: Holes in there World Studio
