Spring Walks at Boconnoc
Celebrate the arrival of spring and Mother’s Day, exploring Boconnoc’s gardens and parkland as the landscape returns to life with fresh greenery and blossom.
Whether you’re looking for a relaxed outing after the winter, a thoughtful way to spend time with your Mum, or new territory for your four-legged friends, the estate provides a beautiful setting for a shared day outdoors.
Walks will be clearly marked, and maps will be available; routes range from gentle strolls around the gardens to longer walks through the parkland, with the longest at 3.8 miles.
Boconnoc House will be open and serving light refreshments, including home-baked sweet and savoury options and Cornish cream teas – add a glass of sparkling wine as a Mother’s Day treat.
Gardens, Lakes & Parkland Trails
Enjoy sweeping views, explore Boconnoc Lake, the Pinetum and Shrubbery, or wander winding paths through gardens planted in the picturesque style. Spring brings a spectacular display of Azaleas, camellias, magnolias, and emerging seasonal blooms.
Magnolias in the Dorothy Garden
The Dorothy Garden is the oldest part of Boconnoc’s gardens and is home to the majority of over 20 varieties found across the grounds.
Ancient Trees
Scattered across the estate are magnificent ancient trees – towering oaks, gnarled chestnuts, and veteran beeches that have stood for hundreds of years. Boconnoc’s woodland is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
Ancient Monuments & Hidden History
The estate’s monuments and historic features add layers of discovery as you wander the trails. Look for ancient Cornish Crosses and Boconnoc’s Obelisk.
Family-Friendly and Accessible Walks
With wide open spaces for children to roam, secret corners to discover, and shorter, easy routes for little legs or buggies, there is something for everyone. If you have accessibility needs please email office@Boconnoc so that the team can assist you.
