What could be better than the freedom to run wild and explore acres of private gardens and countryside?
At Boconnoc, you’ll find a wealth of options to keep children and teenagers active and interested, creating shared experiences, lasting memories, and the opportunity to de-connect with tech and reconnect with each other.
Can head to the woodland and hunt for ancient trees, some 800 years old and 8 meters in girth, and search for some of the 2300 species that thrive around the trees, like blue beetles, rare lichens and fungus. Go birding on the banks of Boconnoc lake and observe the deer grazing in the Deer Park.
Can make up fairytales in the pretty gardens, roman Bath House or at the Lady Hamilton’s marble bath in the Fernery. Take magical walks through the Shrubbery, rest on the steps of the gypsy caravan and watch the dragonflies darting over the lilies on the ponds.
Can visit our ancient monuments, water powered Saw Mill, Stable Yard or Church, with our history book in hand to walk through 800 years of Boconnoc’s story; from duels and royal visits to the changing landscape and the evolution of Boconnoc House.
Can visit the organic Kitchen Garden or Orchard to harvest fruits and vegetables and create a feast in the kitchen. And for alfresco cooking book an Ooni pizza oven and we’ll bring it to your accommodation ready to fire up.
Can take Boconnoc’s bikes for a spin, paddle board at the lake, play a game of tennis, or follow one of our running routes across the estate. There’s a cricket club in the Deer Park and we have football goals available.
Can spread out and let their creativity flow in the Stable Yard’s Craft Room. You’ll find some supplies there already, but your own supplies are very welcome. And of course the gardens offer no end of inspiration; from painting the scenery to collecting leaves and flowers to craft with.
To help you pack lighter some family essentials will be waiting for you at Boconnoc.
