About Boconnoc House and Estate

Boconnoc is a family-owned rural estate in south east Cornwall comprising 70 residential properties, forestry, farms and a hospitality business. We host a variety of events from weddings and retreats to summer parties, deer safaris and music events.

Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Breakfast Chef to join our team at Boconnoc House. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality breakfasts, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring our 5-star food safety standards are met. This role also includes responsibilities such as ordering supplies, managing stock levels, and overseeing freezing and storage procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook high-quality breakfast dishes, ensuring consistency and presentation.
  • Plan breakfast in line with seasonal availability and guest preferences.
  • Order ingredients and supplies to maintain efficient kitchen operations.
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure proper storage, including freezing where necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Train and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Control food costs and minimise waste through effective stock management.
  • Work collaboratively with estate management to enhance menu offerings and guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene and safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Breakfast Chef or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of breakfast preparation techniques and kitchen management.
  • Understanding of stock control, ordering, and food storage best practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Relevant culinary qualifications are desirable.
